Jenny Barton for
Walton County School Board District 2

A Little More about Jenny Barton...
Jenny (JJ) is a life-long resident of DeFuniak Springs and Walton County. Jenny's history in Walton County dates back to the late 1800s and early 1900s. Her family has lived, worked, and worshipped in Walton County for generations. She and her husband, Ben, have been married for 28 years and have one daughter, age 24 and one God-daughter, age 19.
Her hobbies include shopping, attending and watching rodeos and PBR events, and traveling. Jenny and her family are avid Georgia Football fans and enjoy attending games each year. She believes any time she spends with her family is time well spent. Jenny frequently opens her home for entertaining and meals and hosts family and friends at her home several nights a week. She desires to be a listening and encouraging ear to those in need and is frequently found standing up for those who cannot stand up for themselves. She describes herself as charismatic, loyal, and most of all - authentic.

Jenny graduated in 1995 from Walton High School and married her husband, Ben, in 1998. Shortly thereafter, she completed her Accounting Degree at Okaloosa-Walton Community College. She then began working as Accounting Manager and Office Manager in the Insurance industry for 6 years. During this time she also helped numerous churches and small businesses with bookkeeping. In 2002, she became the office manager for the local television station, TV-24. Following that role, she pursued her long-time dream of becoming an esthetician, a profession she has enjoyed for 18 years.
She and her husband have been Pastors of Life Changers Church in DeFuniak Springs since 2008, where she serves as Church Administrator, Speaker, and Worship Leader. Jenny and Ben also own a business for which she does all Accounting practices and office management.
In 2013, her God-daughter moved in with them full-time, expanding their family to four. Now that both her children are adults, Jenny feels commissioned to serve as a School Board member, where she aims to promote conservative values, advocate for faith and family, and implement policy to prepare for the growth of our county.
